Now that the dust has settled from the official release of Xenial Xerus(what is a xerus anyways? Does anyone know?), we get to look forward to the next release of Ubuntu, Yakety Yak (16.10). In case you don't know the 16.10 stands for the release date, 2016, month of October.

Alpa 1 is expected to drop June 30th, a little over a month from now. and I expext there will be lots to talk about if the name lives up to it's promises.

BTW: You can get the daily build right here, but honestly, I don't reccommend it as it isn't even Alpha yet (big risks) and a whole lot hasn't changed yet. If you decisde to install it don't install it on a production machine unless it is inside a VM. In other words right not there is little to gain, and big risks.

Whats coming? Well I have heard grumblings of Unity 8 (which looks pretty cool) as well of continued support of Snap Packages, and probably some general peformance, and technical updates, as well as more I am sure we will find out as time goes on.

If you want to Yak be sure to hit the link up above and let us know in the comments, what you are looking forward to the most in Yakkety Yak.
